Dry Embossing
Dry embossing (or embossing) is a finishing technique used on self-adhesive labels to create a three-dimensional raised effect on the surface of the material, without the use of inks or coatings. This process is achieved through the pressure of two opposing dies, one engraved and one counter-die, which compress the label substrate, deforming it and raising part of the graphic design.
The result is a positive relief, meaning a graphic element that emerges from the surface of the label and can be perceived both visually and by touch.
