Very often clothing manufacturers need to increase the perceived value of their products not only with an advertised brand but also with attractive packaging.
However, the function of the packaging is multiple because, in addition to protecting the product, it clearly or subliminally communicates a positive message to the user of the fashion object. Packaging is a very important part of product marketing.
We have briefly addressed the point of view and needs of the fashion manufacturer. Now let’s reverse the question. Let’s look at the user’s point of view of the fashion product. An important point is expectation. Once we decided to spend more on a well-made, designer and “fashionable” garment, we agreed to spend a higher amount than a more commercial garment or pair of shoes. By virtue of this increased expense we expect: excellent design, excellent material quality and impeccable workmanship. But that is not all. From outside to inside: an important and signed bag, a beautiful and well-made box, an impeccable product wrapping.
This is where the need to “dress” the product impeccably arises.
If we then go further we can also imagine being the product for once. We are a great pair of women’s shoes. We cost more than a thousand euros. Do we want to leave the house (read box) dressed in rags? No, not really.
