Personalised bags made of compostable bioplastic material: the responsible commitment of Stelmar.

Stelmar, exhibitor at Packaging Première, obtained TUV Austria certification in 2020. Part of the company’s responsible commitment is to offer customised bags made of compostable bioplastic material that meets European standards to be recycled through organic recovery.

Thanks to the responsible commitment of Stelmar, the company has obtained TUV Austria certification for the use of compostable bioplastic material, a raw material that is now widely used as an eco-friendly alternative to classic plastic bags.

The certification has allowed to attest that Stelmar products adhere to the standards outlined by the European standard UNI EN 13432, i.e. the characteristics that a compostable material must have in order to be recycled through organic recovery (composting and anaerobic digestion).

Part of the company’s responsible commitment is to offer customised envelopes printed with eco-friendly inks and made from three types of material: MaterBi Classic, MaterBi High Transparency or TIPA.

Classic MaterBi makes it possible to produce durable biodegradable bags with the distinctive colouring similar to maize, the raw material from which it is made.
High-transparency Mater-Bi, on the other hand, is the type that, as its name suggests, is characterised by higher transparency than classic Mater-Bi.
Alternatively, TIPA offers greater transparency, similar in quality to classic plastic polybags.

Stelmar’s customised bags are part of the Fair Project, the company’s project that includes initiatives for more sustainable and responsible production and supply.
