WIPF AG for Avant-Garde 2026
In a forward-looking joint project, Wipf AG and Landguth Heimtiernahrung GmbH developed an innovative packaging solution for wet dog food: a retortable, printed, ultrasonically sealed mono-PP stand-up pouch with viewing window, tailored to the pet food segment. Instead of conventional cans, trays or aluminium laminate bags requiring sterilisation at ~130°C, the new concept enables gentler sterilisation while maintaining shelf life and product safety.
A mono-PP laminate with ceramic barrier provides excellent oxygen and water vapour protection without aluminium. A key innovation is ultrasonic sealing, generating heat only locally to prevent shrinkage and ensure outstanding flatness for efficient destacking and high line performance. The recyclable pouch delivers ~40% lower CO₂ versus comparable 300g structures and improves product presentation—creating clear benefits for brand owners, consumers, and the environment. Certified “Made for Recycling” (18/20 points).
WIPF AG’s project was selected by the jury for the Innovative Materials category and will be showcased in the dedicated Avant-Garde area at Packaging Première 2026.
