MEA by Dafne Sechi for Avant-Garde 2026
MEA is a refillable packaging system made of cork, a natural and regenerative material that does not require tree cutting and stimulates the plant’s life cycle.
In a sector such as cosmetics, often characterized by multi-material solutions that are difficult to recycle, MEA proposes a durable container designed to be reused over time, reducing waste and disposal complexity.
The system involves the initial purchase of the main packaging and the subsequent replacement of the refill only. The use of cork, an abundant resource in Sardinia, enhances a local supply chain and shortens production processes. The benefits include reduced environmental impact, increased durability, simplified end-of-life management, and a user experience oriented toward responsibility and long-term use.
Dafne Sechi’s project was selected by the jury for the Sustainability category and will be showcased in the dedicated Avant-Garde area at Packaging Première 2026.
