Description

CO&IN Tailored Packaging is a company in Granarolo Emilia (Bologna) founded more than 40 years ago in a production district where historically industry and agriculture merge. The company has been producing highly customized packaging for fashion, food & beverage, cosmetics and household items with a twofold philosophy: a short supply chain and a low environmental impact long before these issues became so urgent and cross-cutting.
Today, CO&IN Tailored Packaging introduces a project of a self-assembly box made of 100% biodegradable paper, produced from hemp cellulose (annual plant that needs, at the same cellulose production, of ¼ of the soil in relation to the trees). The hemp paper is produced using the natural glue of the fiber itself (no added glues) pouring only rainwater and without any chemical in the mix. The paper is then, hand processed in vats and air-dried through cold pressing. The whole production process takes place in Italy.
At CO&IN Tailored Packaging, paper is die-cutted, folded and finished with techniques such as embossing, debossing, laser cutting or engraving, without any addition of material, making the product totally biodegradable and using advanced machinery with high energy efficiency that are powered by solar panels (CO2 reduction). The design allows a reduction in packaging weight and volumes (a light structure with open corners), the use of mono-material (maximum recyclability) and it enhances the uniqueness of each product, therefore tailoring it to a specific project.
CO&IN Tailored Packaging is committed to ensure that mass production meets and enhances Italy’s huge craftsmanship heritage, producing articles whose life-cycle has the least possible impact (in production, transport, recycling).
We believe in an inclusive design across all fields, in perfect balance between craftsmanship and mass production, expressed in the ongoing dialogue between design, know-how and tradition.
